some common faq's of our nz photography workshops
Who do the tours suit?
Our Photography Tours of New Zealand | NZ Photography Workshops are designed for anyone wanting to learn new skills in photography and venture to some truly outstanding scenery. But also we have designed them to be about discovery and finding inspiration in the outdoors. These really are fantastic (sometimes) life changing experiences.
What fitness level do I need?
For most of the tours a medium level of fitness will be fine. There is some moderate walking required along the way but nothing too excessive.
What photographic experience do I need?
You should be familiar with the basic operations of a DSLR camera. Regardless of your skill level you will learn and experience new and exciting things.
What will I learn?
On your Photography Tour | NZ Photography Workshop you will learn new technical functions of your camera in manual mode and have plenty of opportunity to practice new leanings. However our photography tours are also designed to get you to understand and start to see photographic opportunities in the natural environment, read natural light, challenge traditional composition and generally think of landscape photography in new and exciting ways.
What payment methods do you accept
You can secure your place on any tour by paying in full on the site. We accept all major credit cards and the payment is secure through SSL Secure Shopping. You can also pay in full via bank transfer if this is preferable to you. Simply contact us at info@photojourneys.co.nz and we will send you our bank account details.
You can also pay a $1000 deposit to secure a place on any tour. This deposit is non-refundable. Full payment is required 60 days out from the tour start.
What are the meal options on the tour.
We generally find that there are a variety of meal options applied across a typical tour. Breakfast will normally be at a cafe after a dawn photo shoot - that first coffee can be really rewarding after a early morning on location.
We always allow time to get supplies at supermarkets, bakeries or cafe's and lunch is usually spent along the way, often in some superb spots. Dinner is usually after our evening photo shoot at a local restaurant where we can relax after a great day of photography.
Meals are not included in the tour price.
Can I bring someone along who is not a photographer?
Yes this is fine and normal booking is required.
This person should consider that this is a landscape photography orientated tour where our focus is getting to and being at amazing scenes often early in the morning and well into the evening. Photography is about patience and we don't rush at these amazing locations that we get too.
